Our Story
‘Whilst flying around the world as airline pilots, we often encounter unexpected turbulence. This encounter can be particularly problematic if we’re enjoying a cup of tea or coffee at the time, often resulting in our favourite brew spilling over us or more critically over the flight deck controls. There have been well documented reports of serious faults occurring due to liquid spills; a recent spill over the centre console caused an engine to shut down in flight!
So we started thinking about how to enhance the safety of beverage drinking whilst also improving the experience. Many airlines address this problem by requiring pilots to drink from a paper cup with a sip-lid. They offer limited protection from spills, block the aroma (which adversely affects taste) and often leads to a burnt mouth due to sucking your drink through a small slot in the lid!
After an exhaustive research and development process the Aerocup® idea was born.
The cup is a reusable, robust stainless steel vacuum cup that keeps your chosen beverage hot or cold for hours. Topped off with the innovative AromaLid® (patent granted) which allows 360° rim drinking, full aroma release and it secures the contents with a simple twist, reducing the chances of spillage. It’s reusable and recyclable, so kind to our environment too………..and it’s not just for use by pilots. Aerocup® is equally brilliant at home, in the office and on the go. It’s a great all-round travel cup!’
